Chen Peiai, a professor and doctoral supervisor at Xiamen University's School of Journalism and Communication, is a leading academic figure China's advertising studies. He served as the Vice Dean of the School of Humanities at Xiamen University and the Director of the Department of Journalism and Communication, a member the Education Ministry's News Discipline Teaching Steering Committee, the Vice President of the Chinese Association for the History of Journalism, the Director of the Academic Committee of the China Advertising, the President of the China Advertising Education Research Association, and the President of the Fujian Communication Society. His main research areas include advertising theory, advertising history, advertising planning, copywriting, advertising culture, brand and advertising, and advertising education.
In 1983, he participated in the establishment of the advertising major in Chinese mainland universities was the first to serve as the director of the advertising teaching and research department.
