Wu Lai'an is a professor at the School of Journalism and Communication of Jinan University, who has been engaged in advertising and related work nearly 20 years. In 2011, she was a visiting scholar in the Department of Media and Communication at the City University of Hong Kong for the "Chinaland Young Scholars in Journalism and Communication Visiting Program". She was also a visiting scholar at the School of Journalism and Communication at Taiwan's Shih Hsin University (2016-2017). She is a full-time researcher at the Anhui Province Humanities and Social Sciences Key Research Base and the Creative Industry Development Center of Anhui Normal University. She has served as a judge for the Fifth National College Student Advertising Competition in Anhui and the Spring Competition of the Fourteenth China College Advertising Art Festival. She has directed and created film and television advertisements that have won the "2010 Women's Media Award – Best Social Gender Equality Advertising Award" the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women and NetEase Women. She has also been a special reporter for the "International Brand Observer" magazine has hosted one National Social Science Fund project.
